Students practice determining mass (using a triple beam balance or pan balance), determining the volume of liquids using a graduated cylinder, and measuring the length of objects using a centimeter ruler.

5. Science Measurement Task Cards

This pack includes 24 task cards to practice answering questions related to metric measurements in science.

6. Science Tools Lockbox Challenge

If you have a lockbox and locks, awesome! If not, you can complete the activity digitally or just with paper.

Skills in Lockbox Challenge:

• calculating the volume of liquids in graduated cylinders

• recalling the units of measurement for mass, volume, temperature, length, and elapsed time

• interpreting the mass shown on a triple beam balance and double pan balance

• calculating the difference of length between two objects using a centimeter ruler

This resource is most appropriate for grades 4-6. I included iLearn Jr. in case students need additional support.
